It’s that special time of year again – San Diego Restaurant Week! If you’re a true foodie you’ve probably been waiting for this week since the last one ended in Fall 2017. Thankfully, the deals are back and the entire city is dishing up creative menus for the event. If you’ve never attended SDRW, it’s a week-long event where participating restaurants all over San Diego offer two-course lunch menus and three-course dinner menus for a fraction of the normal cost. Whether you live in East County, North County or near the border, there’s a San Diego Restaurant Week deal for you. Below are just a few of the amazing options you can enjoy at the over 180 participating restaurants this week!
In a sea of restaurants that can hardly keep their doors open, The Blind Burro has become a staple in the Gaslamp district downtown. The second you try their fresh coastal Baja food you’ll understand why. For SDRW, The Blind Burro is offering a $15 2-course lunch and a $20 3-course dinner. With The Blind Burro’s central downtown location it makes a perfect quick lunch spot. When you stop in for their lunch menu, start with their Guacamole Traditional, or Queso Especial, if you can handle a little mid-day cheese. After your appetizer, choose from Lengua, Al Pastor, Veggie or Mahi Mahi tacos. The dinner menu is a steal at only $5 more a plate. For dinner, you can choose their famous Seafood Enchiladas (pictured above), Burrito Barbacoa, or Chicken Tinga Enchiladas. At the end top it all of with their freshly cooked Churros!
Any San Diego local knows that Humphrey’s is much more than just a restaurant. Everyday Humphrey’s offers first class food with amazing live music right on the bay. This year, Humphrey’s will be offering a $20 2-course lunch and a $40 3-course dinner for San Diego Restaurant Week. If you make it for lunch, we recommend the delicious Cajun Corn Chowder or Seafood Ceviche to start. For your entree choose the SoCal Cobb, Pan Seared Salmon, Wild Mushroom Pasta or the Grilled Chicken Panini. Dinner has additional options, like the Cabernet & Blueberry Braised Short Ribs, Winter Squash Risotto, and Roasted Salmon “Oscar.” When you’re ready for something sweet, you can choose the Vanilla Creme Brulee or the Chocolate Blackout Cake.
Few people take the time to dine in beautiful Balboa Park, but we promise that you don’t want to miss out on this amazing dining experience. Take a gander through the park after your meal for a truly unique San Diego experience. This year The Prado is offering a $15 2-course lunch and a $30 3-course dinner for San Diego Restaurant Week. Our favorites on the lunch menu include the Skirt Steak Panini, Prado Ceasar Salad, and Spicy Calamari Fries. If you’re looking for a dinner menu, we highly recommend spending the $15 extra dollars on their amazing spread of entrees, which include the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs, Chicken Papparadelle Pasta, and Mustard Crusted Pork Prime Rib. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, because you won’t want to leave without trying the S’mores Crème Brûlée, Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Bar or Cream Cheese Flan.
If you’re looking for fine dining, Twenty/20 is the place for you. This elegant Carlsbad spot is just as beautiful as the food is delicious. For San Diego Restaurant Week, Twenty/20 will be serving a $40 3-course dinner. The menu includes Coriander Cauliflower Soup, Avocado Mushroom Toast, Cold Smoked Root Vegetable Salad and that’s only the appetizer list! Entrees include Butternut Squash Ravioli, Salmon Creek Farms Pork Chop, Cioppino, and Pan Seared Barramundi. Once your server has cleared you entrees, enjoy a Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or the delectable Chocolate Malted Cheese Cake. For only $40 this is one of the best menu’s we’ve seen this SDRW.
