Stay in San Diego for these Memorial Day Bites

May 23, 2018Blog, Things to do

Memorial Day is this weekend and you know what that means: parades, patriotism, and good ole American barbecue. Memorial Day pays tribute to all of the fallen soldiers in the U.S. military. Many people celebrate by gathering their families to honor those who’ve lost their lives in the fight for liberty. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to spend a three-day weekend with our loved ones eating, drinking and playing in the sun. Did we mention eating? These San Diego restaurants are bringing the feast, you just need to bring the fam!

How much crab can you eat in two hours? Find out this Sunday the 27th when Beerfish is hosting an all-you-can-eat crab feast from 1 pm – 3 pm. They’ll be serving famous Maryland Blue Crab, overnighted from Maryland, for the Memorial Day Eve celebration. The blue crab will be served with salad, garlic bread, and all the fixings you could dream of. Cold beer and mimosas will be there to keep you refreshed, but they won’t be included in the ticket price. Tickets are $65 and on presale only, so grab them before you miss out on all the crab you can eat!

Because Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, Curadero is hosting a poolside pig roast at Hotel Palomar’s rooftop pool on Saturday the 26th. From 1 pm – 4 pm, executive chef Brad Kraten is switching up the typical Memorial Day meal by hosting a Mexican-Style Pig Roast. The roast will include all-you-can-eat carnitas with all your favorite taco fixings, as well as rice and beans. Presale tickets are only $20 and come with your very own welcome drink and a few swings at the piñata! Grab those tickets before the weekend arrives.
